So guys, I put this in the news section:

Newsworthy news: Your admin got a job for two weeks. It's his dream job too. :D

I have custom emoticons at my forum, but when the news displays only a part of the ": D" displays.

I use the actualism theme.

How can I solve this? Which files to I need to edit so that the news is visible?

better ask in your theme support thread -- it sounds like your theme is cropping the news text

Please do not PM, IM or Email me with support questions.  You will get better and faster responses in the support boards.  Thank you.

Given that the theme author is unfortunately deceased, it may take a while to get an answer. A live link to the problem would help but my guess, which can only be a guess without seeing the problem, is that the search box comes after the news in the markup, and is therefore sitting over the end of the news due to both elements being absolute positioned.

However, I believe that others are providing support for Crip's themes...

I reckon they still might need a live link to the problem. :D

He died? :(

Sorry to say, Crip passed away just over a year ago.

Bruce the Shark

On a more serous topic if someone does unfortunately pass away what happens.
Not to be disrespectful but who takes over there mods if someone requires assistance.

Antechinus

Anyone who feels like it I suppose.

Illori

no one really takes over the mods, but anyone can take over the support of it.

Arantor

This also depends on the licence on things, if they have a licence that allows redistribution/modification others can legitimately take them over.

Oh now i remember this man
When i was trying to look for a theme for my site a while ago.
I come about reading his story.
What an amazing theme creator.
