Hi

I would like to put a PDF file into my forum to be accessed by members only. Is there a way that when a visitor clicks on a particular link they are taken to the log in screen and not directly to the file. I've searched the forum but cannot find anything that does this. I am a novice so maybe its not possible easily, any help appreciated.

Thanks

Colin

This sounds like you could have it set as an attachment in a board that is only viewable by registered members.

Hi Colin

Thanks for reply. I've not put the file up yet I want to check if its possible. I need to know if as you say I make a link to the file, can I stop visitors accessing it and only make it available to members. I'm having trouble explaining exactly what I want to do :(

Cheers

No, it seems clear what you want do do ;)

As Colin said, you just need to attach the file to a post in a board which is only accessible to registered members. Then you need to pick the attachment link and publish it anywhere you want. When a guest clicks on it, it'll be asked to login.
