Birthday Emails

Our forum birthday emails won't go. The Scheduled Tasks has the option checked & the Task Log shows that the task has been performed, but still I could manage to send one only by opting for the "Run Now" option.
I use SMTP as my phpmail just refuses to work, and hosting service says there is no problem at their end.

Are the emails still queued to leave your forum (ie, are  they in a mail queue? Have you enabled the mail queue?).

You say you could send one by running the task manually. Are you sure there are eligible members to which to send birthday emails? Once one is sent to a member the system won't send another for the current birthday event.

Mail Queue is not enabled, as I have to then check & send them manually. Emails from "Send this Topic" are working just fine, so the system is working, it's just that the Birthday emails are not going.

I did the manual send after the auto time had lapsed, the log showed the Birthday Email task done, and the email still not received by the member.
