What version of Simplicity do you use - on what version of SMF?

Andorien

Simplicity version 1.1 rc 1, SMF version 1.0.5

bloc

Don't use the 1.1rc1 version of Simplicity on SMF 1.0.5, rather use the normal Simplicity. Its the same theme, but the code is different.

Andorien

Ah, thank you much.

Again, this theme is awsome.

#584
I actually have a couple of questions:

1. How do I eliminate the Member List link from the right side bar - I don't want any one to see our member list - I turned it off in the template settings but it doesn't trun it off
2. How do I add a custom area to the left or right bars I've tried adding them but they never show up.

Thanks

bloc

1. The link is there, but if you turn off memberlist, they will get a "not allowed" message. To get rid of it, look in index.template and remove the line:
       echo '<a href="', $scripturl, '?action=mlist">', $txt[332], '</a><br />

2. you need to add something to all fields of one item, otherwise it won't show.

webhigh

thanks on # 1 will try it.

on # 2 I have added text to the text  header area and the text box but still nothing shows.

When do you think this theme might be ready for TP ?

Thanks Again

webhigh

Thanks that worked but I actually only had to remove this

<a href="', $scripturl, '?action=mlist">', $txt[332], '</a><br />

Removing echo '<a href="', $scripturl, '?action=mlist">', $txt[332], '</a><br /> actually cuase the template to produce and error

Thanks again

bloc

:) ah..yes. Good you sorted that out.

Simpilcity will not be made for TP, its sidebars(where things from the forum often is displayed) is hard to combine with left/rightbar of TP.

It's a glowing sign of how good this theme is when the topic runs to 40 pages :o
I'm only a half geek really...

Yes it is a great theme - FYI if you have TP installed it will not work properly, and Blog is corre4ct that this theme really doesn't need TP since it's set up like it anyways. Is it possible to provide a list of the files that you really need to change to alter like the heading text and colors etc.. I think there is about 3-4 files, the reason I ask is that I spend alot of time going through to find the files I want need to change and stupid as I am I always forget to write them down.

Thanks

Hi

I have a php include file for my main menu that I's like to include in the top section of the theme. How can I do that I've looked at the ssi.php info but it appears to work only with call to functions. If there a way for me to use a phph include for my main menus ? If so how would I add it to the index.theme.php file ?

Thanks

Hi Bloc, which code sholud be added into index.template, if I want to show "information" about "Total Topics & Total Post" together. Below Topik Category (see attachments). In my forum, only show Total Topic, below Topic Category (left side)

Thank You

bloc

FBI

Yes. Its show total topic. I need to show Total post, too. Could you? :)
See here on left side. Show only total topic.

Hi

How do i install a  chat program on your template  and provide a link "chat" under the user tool.  Also, is there a way to put "User tool " menu across the page under the website name ?

I've tried reading through 20 pages of this thread...It's a great theme and thank you! I just have two questions...

1. How do I switch the board to allow guest posters to post without having to provide an email address?

2. How do I get an image or banner next to the forum name?

Click here to view my board

- danny

Cool. Figured it out by reading the rest of the thread. Thanks!

FBI

Sure, Simplicity is simple.. Nice and flat, less bandwidth consuming :)
Just check it out here http://forumbebas.com/index.php?theme=2

See this http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/6825/simplicity5fi.gif
