Removed Backdrop.png from index.css but it's still displaying?

Is there something that I have to do to get smf to recognize changes to the index.css? I edited out the Backdrop.png line except for the background color but Backdrop.png is still showing in my browser.

What I did was make a copy of the Curve theme, uploaded it into a new directory and then installed it through smf. Then I used the Modify Theme tool to edit index.css and I removed the image portion.

body
{
   background: #E9EEF2;
   font: 78%/130% "Verdana", "Arial", "Helvetica", sans-serif;
   margin: 0 auto;
   padding: 15px 0;
}

I've confirmed that the file has been edited and saved and that my user profile is using the modified theme. But Backdrop.png is still showing.

are you using cloudflare? you'll need to clear cloudflare's cache every time you change your css
may also need to clear your browsers cache
then hit ctrl + f5 to refresh the page
