We post gpx files on the forum (route on gps) when a member wants to download, does he get a message that he must be logged in while logged in?

Sorry, I don't quite understand the question.

By default all attachments work the same way,
you either see them and can download them, or you don't see them and can't download them.

I can download them as admin, members see them but can't download them

Does that just happen with .gpx files or with all other extensions?

i downloaded the mod but where can i find it on my forum

I have supported the roberge mountain hiking forum for a long time. This worked without installing any mod.

Go in Admin Center => Forum => Attachments and Avatars = Attachment Settings. Add in "Allowed attachment extensions" with a comma ",gps,gpx".

You cannot view this attachment.

So, did you install that mod and then you saw that pop-up? If so, maybe ask in the mod's own support topic?

The regular SMF permissions are not designed to do what you are seeing, so I think you do have at least some mod installed to do this.

That is to control what filetypes can be uploaded as attachments, I think this topic is about downloading specific already attached files.
