Hello,

My upgraded 2.1.1 forum is running without error.

However I had reason to merge a topic today and I received this message:

"
An error has occurred
Unable to load the 'merge' template.

"

Does anyone know what might be the issue please?  Where is the file for the merge template located?
I cannot seem to find it.

Thanks.
Bob

Nothing in the SMF log ..

I have another SMF 2.1.1 forum as well.

I checked with that if merge topics was working.  And it is.

I had a look at the files in /Themes/default,  there was a file MoveTopic.php together with MoveTopic.template.php.

I had a look at the files in /Themes/default of the forum with the error, the file MoveTopic.php was not there so I copied  it in.  And tested again. Still coming up with the error.

Solved!

I copied a fresh MoveTopic.template.php from a SMF 2.1.1 install zip package.

Worked!  Maybe something happened to the first copy.

I think when I upgraded the old forum (2.0.19) to 2.1.1 for some reason the file MoveTopic.template.php was NOT replaced by the new version.

The old MoveTopic.template.php file had a 2012 date stamp and was 3712 bytes  EEK!
(my old SMF forum has been running a long time).

The new MoveTopic.template.php file has a 2022 date stamp and is 13229 bytes.

I did a test merge and it is now working properly.

Thanks.
