I just noticed I can't manually activate new accounts or ones that have had an email change. Verified on my upgraded site as well as a clean install site. Can someone else please verify the issue? See image below.. the activate link.

Thanks, Keith

What happens if you click the activate account link?

What version are you using? The one downloaded from here or from the nightly install?

Coyote Keith

I'm using the downloaded version. If I click activate it takes me to the Awaiting Approval tab.

I just tried this and I can reproduce it as well. It looks like a bug. I will have to check out the relevant code though to be sure.

In meanwhile, you can approve members from the acp.

Coyote Keith

What's the acp?

I did take care of one account but I did it through phpmyadmin

Dzonny

acp is admin control panel, or just admin panel :)

As mentioned above, acp stands for admin control panel. Making changes to the db directly is not recommended btw, although in this case it was a simple thing. A word of advice if I may, whenever you do edits to the database directly, make a backup of it first. Like that, if things do not go according to plan, you can always roll/revert back.

Got it. Thanks for all the help.

If someone could confirm if this issue is actually a bug, and if it's still valid for current code on Github, I would appreciate it. We could then move this and make a bug report on it :)

I have just successfully activated test accounts in ACP on two separate installs from the downloads from here, one modded that I've been using and one fresh install. No problems activating new accounts with either! ;)  8)

I looked at the relevant code and as far as I could see everything was fine. It is strange as the activation is still not working for me from members profiles though.

I've gone ahead and moved this to the bugs board for now - It seems to me like there might be an issue there, but we just haven't been able to pinpoint it just yet.

In 2.1 the activation link in the members profile is just a link into the admin panel, from where you can activate the account.
Though it is opening the wrong "tab". Awaiting approval instead of Awaiting activation.

I see @ozp fixed this a while back - looks like 2.1.2.

Thanks, @ozp !
