Greetings!

I've encountered an unusual error with a clean install of SMF on my new hosting provider at inmotion.

I created a clean install of SMF at: https://d20studios.com/smf/index.php

Once I've logged in, I can't log out. See the attached GIF.

What's more, I can't post anything while logged in. While testing login/posting, I also received errors for: "Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again."

I've attempted 3 clean installs now on this server (in various folders) and these occur on each instance. Never had this problem before on any prior web hosts (including inmotion).

Does anyone have any ideas for possible solutions to this issue?

As an additional note, I believe I can rule out browser caching as a culprit for this issue. I spoke with a support technician at the hosting company and they were able to reproduce the issue. What's weirder: When they initially visited the page, they could see themselves logged in as me.

This has me very concerned. Almost like the server and/or database is somehow caching session data, but it's public for other users as well.

Problem Solved!

The problem I was observing also affected any kinds of changes (like theme changes). All evidence seemed to point to some kind of caching behavior on the server. After some exploration in Cpanel, I discovered a new option I had not seen before in older versions of cpanel:

Under Software Section ->
Cache Manager (Has a paintbrush like icon)

Inside Cache Manager ->

Select the domain
Select "Options" tab
Select Cache Profile -> No Caching

This immediately fixed all issues.

LOL, same brain wave! Got your post while I was writing up my responses taking screenshots/mockups to help other users stuck on this problem as well.

Speaking of which, is there a way to add additional attachments here after the initial post? I couldn't figure out.
