Enable compressed output

So I checked with my host and the required zlib library is installed. But when I click to enable compressed output, the change isn't saved. Compression still isn't enabled. This is happening on two sites.

I figured this out. I turned off zlib.outputCompression in PHP options and the checkbox was then already enabled upon page refresh:
