I've dealt a lot with other BB forums - but trying to get my head around GMs vs Ms. In the Admin>Boards and Categories - you can add GMs as a a group to Moderator Groups but you can't add Moderators as a group - you appear to have to add each mod nomenclatively to the Moderators field?

You can have 2 different types of moderators.

Local moderators: Not a real membergroup, permissions and badge is used only in the board in which the user is assigned as a moderator.
Global moderator: A real membergroup, permissions and badge is used (by default) in every board on the forum.

Example, I am an admin on this board, (and all of the forum but that's besides this point)
yet a local moderator in the finnish support board https://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?board=39.0
You can see the Local Moderator profile in action here https://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=335179.0

How you can help SMF

Hi "Lex"
Thanks for your response and apologies for the delay in replying.
OK, very much understand the difference in roles between a GM and an M - but not used to the differential that SMF takes - so thanks for the explanation
