my SMF version 2.1.4 was down only showing this

The SELECT would examine more than MAX_JOIN_SIZE rows; check your WHERE and use SET SQL_BIG_SELECTS=1 or SET MAX_JOIN_SIZE=# if the SELECT is okay

Adjusted topic title. Please try to give a quick idea of what the problem is in your topic title in the future. Thanks. ~ Steve

Is that all it shows? No file names are mentioned at all? And where is it showing?

KTN

Hi there,

The SELECT would examine more than MAX_JOIN_SIZE rows; check your WHERE and use SET SQL_BIG_SELECTS=1 or SET MAX_JOIN_SIZE=# if the SELECT is okay

This error says that your script is trying to create a join that examines more than 800,000,000 rows. This is usually a problem with script or a developer forgot to use WHERE to restrict the amount of rows that needs to be examined.

We can not really fix this as allowing that amount of rows to be examines is overloading the server, so you would need to fix the script and restrict the amount of joined rows, or upgrade to a vps server where this limit does not exist.

Thank you and stay safe !

Please let us know if there is anything we can do.

Best Regards"

I was traveling last 3 weeks and didn't change anything. It happened just yesterday. But I have the WP bridge from my SMF site.

The thing is that this error usually doen't happen out of nowhere. If you uninstall that mod, does the error go away? Can you check your server error log and see if any message(s) is/are logged there since the error has happened?

I think my SMF2WPBridge mod problem. How can I disable this mod from cpanel?
