Hide Until Approved - Hides too much ;) -- quite painful for a new user!

Hi all,

New to SMF (via iMatch SMF 2.1.4 community)... but not new to online.

I spent half an hour creating my first post. Understood that it needs to be approved by a moderator.

But then things quickly got nerve-wracking:
* I wanted to edit my post. Can't find it. And I don't see it in my profile list of posts.
* I don't see it in the forum either, as an unapproved post.

So I came here looking for insight.
The permissions feature says:
QuotePost new topics, but hide until approved - Determines whether users in this membergroup can post new topics which are only visible to moderators with the necessary permissions or administrators, but not other users.

By any chance, are my posts also hidden to me?

I think that's a painful bug.

No, unapproved posts are available and usually editable for the original poster. Unless the post has not been approved, and has been deleted instead.

How you can help SMF

MrPete

That's good to know as far as SMF goes. (Might want to incorporate that into the documentation!)

The implications are more for the community where I posted. Not an issue for SMF of course.

THANKS!

This looks like a Very Good community app. Love what you've done.
