Ignore list

One of the most frequent complain of my users is how to ignore other users.

Specifically, the problem is that some very active users will overpopulate the info center "recent posts" and of course the overall forum view. And even if these active users are put to ignore list, it doesn't help.

I've been searching for plugin solution to this, but haven't found yet. Is the filtering of recent post list by ignore list even technically possible? If that is, I might consider taking a look into fixing this issue finally.

Some people also think that ignoring users should make them disappear completely from the sight. That not what happens now, obviously.

Any tips for improving ignore feature would be highly appreciated.

Upgrading it to a full global ignore has some serious consequences for performance which is why SMF doesn't do it and why I don't think anyone's tackled as a mod (especially because you'd manually have to do it not only across the whole platform but also for any mods you have, otherwise you'll only get complaints that "I ignored them *here* but not *there*")
