[free] Automatically resize quoted images for SMF 2.1.4

I've had a look around and can only find very old mods, or ones that work with the attachment system. I don't let users attach/upload images, they just store them themselves on their own hosting. 

So when someone embeds a big graphic, you'll then find you have to scroll past it over and over again because it doesn't get made any smaller when quoted. 

Is there a mod I'm overlooking, or perhaps some kind of internal setting that will set a max limit on the width of quotes images?

I never got my head around CSS and don't know much about it.  What file would I be looking to edit?  Perhaps I can get ChatGPT to knock something up for me?
