png alpha transparend cross browser

How do you make a png look alpha transparent in opera, mozilla and ie, without using big bulky javscripts or php scripts.

Tested some off google but they didn't work or only worked for a part.

they need to build it into IE so it uses alfa transparent pngs anyway!
