I did a search and scan of the forum, so I hope I'm not making a double post... :)

I just upgraded my smf forum from version 1.0.5 to 1.1RC2
I had some troubles during the update. In one of the update log queries the database connection was constantly lost.
Editing the upgrade_1-1.sql file and changing 500 to 400 fixed that problem.

Now however...
After the patch (everything else seems fine)
I am no longer able to remove a topic. I'm ofcourse, in the admin group with rights set to "All"
When I press the "remove topic" button, an empty page shows, and nothing happens.
The topic is not removed.

The same happens when I try to remove a post, with the difference, that the post IS in fact, removed,
and no longer in the forum when I refresh the page. The topic however, will not go away...

I've tried this with internet Explorer 6.0.2900.2180 SP2 and Firefox.
Firefox DOES give me an error:

Database Error: MySQL server has gone away
File: /var/www/www.wracky.onthanet.com/doi/forum/Sources/RemoveTopic.php
Line: 355

or

Database Error: Lost connection to MySQL server during query
File: /var/www/www.wracky.onthanet.com/doi/forum/Sources/RemoveTopic.php
Line: 355

Can anyone maybe tell me what I can do to solve this problem?
I guess it has something to do with my hosts MySQL version/install but can anyone confirm this or tell me what needs to be changed?

Thanks in advance!

Sverre

There have been a couple of similar reports, and if you've made sure all your old files have been overwritten (Admin > Support and Credits > more detailed), you might want to take a look at this topic:

Thank you :) this post was indeed about the exact same issue.
Guess I didn't find it because I searched for "Remove topic" instead of "Delete topic"  ::)

Thank you for pointing it out  :D
I edited the php-files, but I'll sure tell my admin to update the MySQL server
