How to change the forum lenguage?

SMF Version: SMF 1.0.5
Hello, ive installed some theme, then changed the lenguage to spanish but i found that it wasnt showing some pics, so i set it back to english and then cheked the theme, added spanish pics and tried to put spanish again, but now i cannot choose it from the menu, it just says 'english' also, if i change the lenguage in the settings.php then the site wont load :(

tell me whats wrong :P

Admin -> Edit Features and Options -> Enable user-selectable language support.

well, the thing is that i from the admin panel cannot choose spanish, the dropdown menu wont show it... and i went into the settings.php and changed it from there and the site diddnt show.. any clue why i cannot get it to show?

you dont change the language in settings.php
first make sure spanish files exist in /Themes/default/language/spanish
then do oldiesmann said to change the language

there is not a .spanish file :( where can i get em?? cuz i remember they were there.. ooh well.. if anyone has the link for the spanish version :P
