Signatures in PMs

I current use YaBB SE through Boardnation (David owns it and runs it) and when I reply to PMs I have to manually insert a signature to it.  However, I know that with VB it is possible to mod it so that a signature (like one would put in an e-mail) can automatically be included in PMs.  I'd like to request that this be a feature in SMF.  Is it too late for a new feature to be included in SMF?  If not, could this please be included as a feature?

Why would you need a separate signature for pms than you use for the forum?

I think this is for like how you always type -[Unknown].

And I always will, why would I stop typing it every time?

Maybe another button that inserts a sig, which was defined in the profile, where your mouse is.  Like BBC or smilies work.

I'd be fine with that or even fine if the signature inserted into PMs was what is shown on forums (although that brings along the problem of graphics and sound and so forth).

But a simple textual signature is all I'm talking about.  In each PM I always type:

So, even if everything from ^Raven^ down could be put into the signature it'd be very helpful to me.

just go to your profile, under Forum Profile Settings, and write it there, it'll show in messages and PMs ;)

That'll work in SMF?  Thing is I don't want the normal signature to be included in PMs since people (including myself) will put graphics or whatnot into their normal signature.  I want to have signatures in PMs that are text only.  Much like one would use in an e-mail.  That's why I'm asking for what I'm requesting.  :'(

I was thinking this over and realized that I'd want a more extensive non-graphical signature to be used in PMs.  I'd like for this feature to be a signature that shows ONLY in PMs.  I know in SMF that you can do a signature that'll appear in posts AND PMs but I don't want that.

Here's an example of a text only signature that I may use in PMs:

^Raven^ (This is your forum name or online alias)
Owner & Co-Administrator (This is your position)
Chromiates Warhammer Forums (This is the name of your forum)

!---Contact Information---!
AIM: You put your AIM Name here
e-Mail: You put your eddress here
PM: Put the direct URL for people to PM you
ICQ: Put your ICQ # here
MSN: Put your MSN Name here
Y!: Put your Yahoo! name here

I realize that contact info is shown in a person's profile but not everyone looks in there or will look in there for the information.  People often will display contact information in the signature they have for e-mail so it just makes sense to do that here.

Inserting your forum name (online alias) is essential while including your position on the forum helps so people know who exactly they're dealing with and what that person does.  Including the name of the forum just re-affirms who the sender of the PM is a part of.

I smell a mod...

It doesn't look like too many would be interested in this if it was included with SMF.

David

I definitly was feeling this last night, I mean when I send pms I use the sam sig as I do for my e-mail and I want it in the body of the message.

Yeah, I'm constantly sending PMs to people and have to manually insert my lengthy sig (what I posted for an example is exactly what I use but I of course put my real contact info in my PMs).  Its a chore to do but it is professional and that's what I'm aiming for in doing it.  If this was done automatically it'd be a great asset to people.  If it existed as a feature I know people would use it.  Perhaps not at first (people still in YaBBSE don't know that they have an Outbox for their PMs) but over time it'd be used.

Heck I'd even be fine if it was an official mod as long as David supported it on Boardnation (that means you'd have to include it and so forth David buddy  8) )
