I don't know if that title makes sense, but I'm wondering if it's possible to make it impossible for users with IE to do a screen capture? I know there are other ways around that, source code, etc....

But for some, it will be a quick deterent.

Is there code to do that? What is it and where would i put it, if so?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Don't think so? Screen Capture is OS-feature, not somthing provided by a browser or website?

Greetz!

I think this is possible only using an activex object and only on Internet Explorer that should be intialized on every page that you would want to deny the making of screen shots.
Activex control should be installed on the visitors computer...

It is impossible.

Even with activex controls there are special screen capture tools which can bypass this protection

Yes, you are right... if someone wants to make a screenshot , he will be able to do it using some software.

Should I make a suggestion? If you want to disallow screenshots, you probably have some pictures to protect? Why don't posting them on a lower quality... maybe.. or I don't know.

You could also watermark them ;)

Well if you really want to stop print screen. You can just have a java script function in the background that clears the clipboard.

It's actually not photos that I am trying discourage screen captures of, but posts on a forum.

If you guys say it's impossible though, I'll believe you , I've gotten great advice here and figured if anyone would know...this would be the place.

Thanks!

This still wouldn't work with third party tools which don't use the keyboard ;)
