Yep, add some padding & margin so it looks better then tweak the border so it looks "inset"   I thought it was pretty neat.

Here's another one if you want a curly quote image:

color:#000; background:transparent url(images/quotes.gif) left top no-repeat;
padding-left: 34px;
padding-bottom: 10px;

font-style: italic;

You might need to tidy up the css as it's not my strong point, was going to attach the " quote image but there's no attachment option
