People, PLEASE remember this mod is still BETA and is for TESTING only. It has bugs and could very likely break your forum, especially if you are not really sure what you are doing, so DO NOT INSTALL IT ON LIVE BOARDS!

as soon as i edit the .htaccess file on my website and on my local machine with apache running, i get this:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

does anyone know what is casuing this and what i can do to resolve it?

can you tell us:
exactly what it says in the apache error logs
what version of apache/php you use and what OS
exactly what you have in the .htaccess file

is you apache even setup to allow .htaccess?
does your apache have mod_rewrite installed?

the apache error logs are the key thing to be looking at, that error message is just meaningless.

It will be out when it is ready. Just be patient guys ... I am sure the SMFSeo team is trying their best to get this mod working perfectly. Lets not pressure them

My guess would be that it will be integrated into the next version of SMF... seems to take too long for a simple mod, especially an urgently needed one.

My thoughts exactly. I wonder why there aren't people who'd try to make one right now. A lot of people are willing to pay just to have their forums rank high in the search engines. Even vbSEO.org sells its product for $150 apiece, I don't see why anyone here wouldn't attempt to make this urgently-needed mod.

This mod sounds great!  I hope you will be adding the shorter profile URLs with member names instead of numbers because I have been searching all over for a way to do that.  I'll be patiently watching this mod.  Thank-you so much for all of your hard work!!
