Using Burning Board Lite 1.0.1.
The converter being used is the one posted on page5 of this thread,

That one doesn't work because it looks for admin/_data.inc.php
WBBLite uses admin/config.inc.php

Well, one of the converters is labelled for 1.0.1 in this topic.  I'm afraid that I have only updated things for 1.1 as far as this converter, so I don't have anything to give you.

Ooookay, I downloaded the converter posted on Page2 by Grudge, and it works perfect !
Very Happy, SMF rules... ironically my board name is SPF.

Just posting an updated wbb 1.2 converter - just a few fixes in it.

I only have 1 problem. On a board we post loads of code, and the converter escapes the special characters. Like:

' becomes \'
" becomes \"
\ becomes \\
and so on.

Is there any way to fix this? Otherwise the tool is just fine.

The converter seems to work fine, but with one snag.

The prefix_topics table has two indexes on it that trip up the import, specifically firstMessage and lastMessage. These are listed as unique indexes, so the first time a duplicate topic is put into the table with the same ID_LAST_MSG and ID_BOARD, the import fails (sliently). After removing these two indexes, the import went cleanly with no table errors.

Tested on 1.0.7 as 1.1rc2 didn't like the import at all.

I simply removed the addslashes thing and now it works fine. Converted a 50MB dump to SMF and I became a happy user! Thanks for this great converter!

The funny thing: There's no user inside the new table?! So it isn't successfull at all!!!! HELP!

The second file postet at leasts converts the boards, but nothing else, the 2.1 converts nothing, as shown above. If you need additional info, let me now

This is a thread for WBB 1.2 not 2.3. You might get better results by checking if there is a 2.3 thread, and if not, make one with your request.

BTW, [Unknown] or Grudge, I found my old WBB1.2 English-language installer archive. If you want to improve the converter, I can send it over. Porting avatars would be a nice touch, and possibly polls.

No it's for 2.1 - when i wrote it, i wondered there was a 2.1 but no 2.3?

The coders likely haven't had a chance to work on one yet. If 2.3 isn't too different from 2.1 database-wise, why not look at the 2.1 converter and update it? I'm sure they would appreciate the help.

(Topic says 1.2 and attachments have mostly been 1.2, so I just kinda figured this was a 1.2 thread...)

I looked at it, but it's too complicated for my... I can do some programms in VB and delphi, but that's it :<

Yeah you're right. But the 1.x converter worked best so far, at least the boards could be converted. So i started here since there was no 2.3 thread yet.

bmhm can you please send me a database dump of version 2.3?  I will try to ge this converter to work for 1.0.7 then you can just upgrade to 1.1 RC2 or stay at 1.0.7.

EDIT:  There is a converter for 1.1 here.  Let me know if that works.  If it doesn't send me the database dump.

Personally I already took a look at BB's structure. It uses EXTREMELY long values... quite bad done imho..?
