Hi Guys!

I will thank any help because this is driving me crazy!

Here is the problem... I just installed my SMF forum 1.1 RC2 and Bridge 1.1.4 with Joomla 1.0.9
My bridge and smf forum seems to be working ok but when I see my joomla site using Internet Explorer I see the center table down here are 2 pictures of what I see using IE.

But when I see my site using Mozilla Firefox I see my joomla site without problems...

Can somebody give me a hand please?

I'm pretty that happened because your template's using the forum theme's CSS file. There's a thread around here on how to separate them, just search for it.

no, face, it has nothing to do with the forum's CSS file...   it has to do with the fact that some joomla templates (especially thin, fixed width ones) will have that problem with ANY content that is too wide in the main content area.  The forum is usually the first thing that people notice, but it's a problem with the joomla template itself, and will actually happen even with normal joomla content it a wide image is used... or the gallery component, etc...

The fix is either a) use a different joomla template, b) play around with the fixed width of your joomla template or c) change the joomla template to a variable width...

I think your wrong Kindred.  I use the same Joomla template.  If it were an issue with widths, it would do the same thing in firefox, which it does not.  if you look closely at the pictures, you can see that the left column where the login module as well as the main and user menus are located is actually kinda broken.  I believe there is an open table or something causing the issue, but I haven't found it yet.

If anyone has any other ideas, please share.

while there may be an open table, it IS also related to widths...   firefox displays differently than IE in many templates.

That may be the case in some themes, but not this one.  If you are looking at the Home page of Joomla, it still has the same problems.  Here's a screenshot from mine to explain.

If it only occured when you were viewing the forum, I would agree with you 100%.  But since it occurs even on the homepage of the site, it has to be an issue with the login form module.

Hey Guys!

Thank you for your answer, but I coudn't fix my joomla site yet... I decided to use another Joomla template and there is not a problem with IE if I use another joomla Template.

Any idea of the error? and the way to fix it?

Kindred

I looked at the login php file...    there are no unclosed tables...

Maybe I am wrong, guys, but I've used that template before and had the same problem, and separating the css files fixed it. The css affects things that do ultimately add up to the content width, I guess. Compare his screenshot to the installation on hxxp:demo.joomla.org [nonactive]. Notice the (very slight) difference in fonts, or more prominently in the module titles. Oh, and look at the radio buttons. I remembered the radio buttons changing in particular when it happened to me.
