Hi

I'm new to this forum stuff...be gentle.

I installed the Ad Management Mod ad_mod_rc3_v2.zip (15KB) on this page
http://mods.simplemachines.org/index.php?mod=255
Then after a few goes at previewing some basic text ads on my site, I started getting the following error message on a white screen.

"PHP has encountered an Access Violation at 02D5D60F"

I have uninstalled the mod but this is still happening.
It is intermittent and if I back button I can navigate the site after a second or third attempt.

I'm using RC3

How do I get shot of the error and has anyone else had this issue with the Ad Manager and gotten a resolution?

Thanks,

Johnnypict

Could you make and link to a phpinfo page?

What is phpinfo.php?

Hi,

I followed the instuctions thanks for that.
I didn't know where to save it so I assumed here.

hxxp:www.thebdsmforum.com/bdsmf.c/forum/phpinfo.php [nonactive]

I had a look and it appears to pull up a lot of info. None of which I know much about so I promptly navigated away. Also when registering I get no activation e mails. Don't know if it's related.

Thanks for your help.

That is a REALLY old version of PHP (according to the date it is over three years old). Please update PHP, the old versions didn't work well with IIS 6.

For sending mail out, you need to install the SMTP service in IIS, allow it to be relayed through by the local machine, and set your mail method to SMTP in SMF. (PHP doesn't use built-in mail functions on Windows)

Thanks Motoko-chan

I have no idea how to upgrade as I'm a newbie.
I have had a look at the 'phpmyadmin' documentation supplied by my hosting company, so I'll give it a go when I've read through it.
If there's an easierway or a guide please let me know.
As for the mail issue I'll investigate that also.

Thanks for your help, I'm away to learn.

Cheers,

I encourage you to bug your host to upgrade. Unless they have a very specific reason for using a version that old, it should be upgraded right away. Aside from fixes to support IIS better, there are many security holes in a version that old which have been fixed in newer versions.
