bug or install error? Undefined index: theme_template_error

I don't know if this is a bug or an error with my install, but this happened twice, on two separate servers, using two separate browsers (mozilla and latest ie). files were uploaded with smartftp. is not a problem the database or anything as its our own paid space and we've previously run yabbse and have yabb.

both installs were fine (using smf_1-0-beta4p_install.zip) and the instructions for installation given on this site were followed to a T. permissions were given, etc. during installation there were no errors, all info given was correct (database pass and such). both installs got to the point where you have the screen saying the board is installed here and go there and login as admin and dont forget to delete your install.php file,etc.

but clicking on the link to go to the board, in both cases, brings this result:

QuoteNotice: Undefined index: theme_template_error in /home/broken/public_html/Forum/Sources/Load.php on line 813

curious if its a bug or not and if its known. have not been able to find anything directly related, but please forgive me if its known already.

Can you give a link?

Moving to support because this is certainly not a bug, (everyone else can install it, no?) nor a bug in the site :P.  I'm thinking it's the infamous SmartFTP issue.

I've got the same problem,
but it is only there when using yabbse_ as prefix and if I use smf_ (I have both because I want to move my smf from one server to another)

btw:
PHP Safemode is ON

Make sure that all of /Themes/default is uploaded properly.  FTP programs can be a pain when moving a lot of files.  I had the same problem because the default theme didn't upload properly.  Everything works now.  Oh yeah, and I am not using yabbse_ or smf_ for the prefix.  That shouldn't make a difference.

treo

everything IS uploaded properly, or better said, I installed it using a shell, I didn't have to upload it ^^
and the problem is when using the other tables (the ones which has the yabbse_ prefix) it doesn't work, because of that error!

I have the same error after upgrading to 4.1 nave.

I get this:
Notice: Undefined index: theme_current_settings in /home/domainname/public_html/cgi-bin/yabbse/Sources/Subs.php on line 1277

Can't figure this one out.

Is this error with the default theme or with your own theme? If only your own then redo your theme changes from scratch.

Default theme.  I have no knowledge of creating my own yet.

Sure did.  I'll do it once more if that will fix this.

That seemed to fix it.  The error is gone now.  I re-uploaded both the classic and default folders.  Then I ran update.php.  It's cleared up now.  I don't know what happened the first time though.

Jazhawk, you were missing some language file changes.

That was probably it.  I re-uploaded everything and the error is now gone.

Go into Themes/default/languages and edit Admin.english.php

Search for:
$txt['theme4'] = 'Current Theme';

Add after:
$txt['theme_current_settings'] = 'Current Theme\'s Settings';

This happened to me using the latest language files yesterday...

I re-uploaded some files and the error is gone.  I already posted about it. In my experience, WS_FTP isn't the most reliable utility for transferring data.  As soon as I can get some money for TurboFTP, WS_FTP is gone.
