Database error when user tries to register

Hello,

I installed this software clean yesterday and imported my old forum from phpbb2.

The problem I'm having is everytime a new user tries to register this message appears

Database Error. Please try again. If you come back to this error screen, report the error to an administrator.

It appears the users account is created and there are no problems there but this message obviously prompts people to think their account has failed so they try and register over and over.

I checked the error log and get this

k9media is my username.

I have the following packages installed as well as joomla bridge
1. RSS Feed Icon 1.1   
2. Ad Managment 2.0     
3. Users Online Today Mod 1.4.0   
4. VisualWarning 1.30   
5. MessagePreviewOnHover 1.4     
6. Qucik Register 1.0   
7. PM On Registration 1.0.2     
8. Custom Profile Field Mod

Hope someone can help as I really love this software.
