Spell checker says every word is spelt wrongly

Hello,
My forum's spell checker keeps reporting that every word in a post is spelled wrong? Can anyone suggest why? My forum's phpinfo.

The TO spell checker... isn't working.  Well, it is, but not in the way you'd think.  It's like a gangsta spell checker.  I was usin' it in the enclave, to try it out, even though I knew my words were spelled correctly, and it told me they weren't and was replacing them with 75% slang words!  ^.^ It was kinda cool, but is also very much in need of repair...

Like, it'll highlight the word "changes", and the first thing in the suggestions box will be "whiz", and I think the second one was like "Schoez", or somethin'.... >.> It's really weird.  It's so funny... but yet so wrong.

It's replacing very basic words, with more advanced words.  That have like nothing in common.  >.>

Change>>Channeller, Cheque.... WHOA, and when testing out the Spell checker for this PM there was a whole word dedicated to alchoholic drinks.... >.<

Hehe, sorry about that! I'll be sure to look into it further. I'm not sure why it's doing that, that's very odd.

I'll see what the forum software support guys say, then forward this onto my host. Yeah it is weird/funny, and in desperate need of repair! Thanks for letting me know, I'm looking into this now.

I would ask your host about this. It seems like a pspell is incorrectly configured on your site.

What sorts of things should I ask them? I've never been too sure about the whole PSpell/ASpell thing?

Just explain your issues and suggest that maybe they check that pspell is compiled correctly. I am sure if you open a support ticket and they know what they are doing you will be fine.

It's definitely compiled in and ready to be used. There's no much more we do than checking a box on our webserver compile system and it gets added. Perhaps there's an incompatibility with the version we have installed and what your SMF board is expecting to use? We've got the standard 0.50.5 version installed, so perhaps it's expecting something older or newer?

Sorry to bump (now 24 hours since last post), but any updates? My host (A Small Orange) have a lot of experience (i.e. it's not like they're a one man, one server operation) and it seems that they've got the compatible version of PSpell installed... any further ideas/suggestions?

Pspell is working fine for me on ASO (I'm on claire) so it must be some sort of local thing.

Are you using php4 or php5?

Have you converted to UTF-8?

Ah fair enough.. that's odd then.

I'm using PHP 4.4.4, and yes, I've converted to UTF-8.
