About 3 hours ago, this error started to pop up whenever anyone tries to reply to a post:

8: Undefined index: code
File: /home/nnyprs/public_html/paranormalQnA/Themes/default/languages/Post.english.php (eval?)
Line: 829

I am lost.  Please help.

Replace that file with a clean copy. Post back with any more errors you may see.

The (eval?) at the end of the error means that the error is being caused by another file, not by Post.english.php.

To find out what file is causing the error, run this query in phpMyAdmin:

REPLACE INTO smf_settings (variable, value) VALUES ('disableTemplateEval', '1');

What is phpMyAdmin?

After you've done that, try to reply to a post, and then check the error log. It will have the same mesage, but a different file name. If you attach that file here, we'll look at it and see what's causing the error.

Go to smfshop.com for SMFshop support, do NOT email or PM me!

Ran the query, Now I have this:

8: Undefined index: code
File: /home/nnyprs/public_html/paranormalQnA/Themes/default/Post.template.php
Line: 829

Any mod installed? Sounds like a mod has changed your Post.template.php and causing the error.

plenty of mods...but all have been working fine for at least two months

OK...new problem...I finally found how to upgrade to 1.1.1  thorugh my Fantastico....so I did that.
Now I get this:

Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.

Fantastico has this wonderful habit of killing Settings.php on upgrades. Try copying Settings_bak.php to Settings.php and see if that works. If it doesn't, use the repair settings tool (in the download section here) to fix the file.

I tried the settings_bak....didn't work...the settings repair tool will not upload into the system :(

青山 素子

You can't upload the file via FTP?
