Hi SMF Team,

I had the following situation:

1. one member registered on my forum
2. mail was outgoing to registered email-address
3. outgoing mail was rejected by mail server (cause of wrong entry in my mail-server config)
4. authentication with right email is pending cause the mail isn't delivered

So I fixed the problem on my server, deleted the member and said him to re-register again.
Here comes the issue: the member can't register again, because one cookie from my SMF board is saying 'hey, you had already registered!'.

The only solution was to kill his cookie on his hard disk.

Is there any option to build in (or create a simple mod) a feature to disable this re-register protection?

Greetings from Germany,
fratzi.

It's there to help prevent spam registrations. The easiest thing to have done here would have been to click on the "Did you miss your activation email" link and have it resent the code.
