Please move this if it is in the wrong category.

I was viewing my forum with the new IE and have noticed a problem.

I'm seeing part of it here. It seems that the text disappears into the right side of the posting box. That's problem one.

Problem two is that it doesn't post the majority of the message. There's an option at the top called "Compatibility View" and says that, if clicked, it works with websites that as it says, "are designed for older browsers." If I click it, it works fine. But I figure that some people don't know that option is there and I don't want people to have to click on that to use the forum.

Any updates so that these things don't happen?

Thanks.

When you say "the new IE" do you mean IE8? It's notoriously full of bugs.

Can you tell me which version of IE you where using? Be specific about it. :)

Yes, it's 8. And I also notice that spellcheck is not working either. It just opens up and says "blank" in the URL area.

Thanks.

Man, IE 8 is terrible. Can't even do many of the basic things and freezes up alot.

Told ya it was full of bugs. Look at it this way: Microsoft would be doing the world a favour if they stopped attempting to make browsers. They always mess it up. Not only is IE8 a Microsoft browser but it's a beta version of a Microsoft browser. Go figure.

As reported here: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=275576.0

I think this is a IE8 bug and we wont need to fix this if MS fixes it properly (Although I doubt that :P ).
