It looks like it's working now. Yahoo! Thank you SO MUCH for all the help I've been given. I'm just clueless (and surprisingly unable to learn it) and it means so much that I can come here and get the help I've gotten here.

Now, one final question. Is there a big difference between the version I have now and the 2.0 version. Should I upgrade, and can it cause more problems?

Yes, there are significant changes between the 1.1.x series and 2.0.x series. SMF 2.0.x has more features, like postmoderation and a user warning system, additional profile fields, requestable membergroups and more. However, it's still a release candidate which means there are some bugs left. Not huge bugs, but if you want an absolute stable system I'd recommend sticking with 1.1.11.

The best way to discover is to install a 2.0 RC3 testforum. This will allow you to test and experience the new features.

Also, note that 1.1.x themes won't work with 2.0.x.
