I set up a board as an Announcement board, as per the instructions in this thread: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=8601.0

However, it does not e-mail notify people whose primary groups are Administrators or Global Moderators, when new topics are created.  :-\

The bug was worse in version 4.1, where it wouldn't notify anyone who was a part of a primary group.  ;D

But it emails other people?  Just *not* administrators?!  What?

Hehe, yep.  I tried from a Test account and I never received the e-mail on the Admin account.  I think the same is true for Global Mod too, but I'll verify.

I also know the poster himself won't receive the notification, but it's odd that Admins don't.  :o

The Global Mods can receive notifications fine, so it seems to only be Administrator that is not getting any notifications.  :(

What if they are an administrator by virtue of an additional group, not primary?

Haha, ok you won't believe this.  It's working now!

When I made the Test account an Administrator it worked.  Then I switched to the Test account and posted, and the original Yonkey account FINALLY got an e-mail notification.

Maybe some index in the database got updated when I added the Test as an Administrator.   ??? Anyway, it's all working now! :)

Oh, that I can explain.

You don't get notifications of posts YOU make.

Yeah, I know that part.  I first tried posting as the Test account when it wasn't an Administrator and I still wasn't receiving any e-mails on the Yonkey account.  It was only after I changed Test to an Admin that I got an e-mail notification.  ::)

Oh!

There's a permission, I think it's in the interface.... that you need to have to send announcements.
