SMF 2.0 beta 1 - only english language pack

Hello!

Can be downloaded the English language pack of the 2.0  beta1 version for starting to translate them into another language?

I understanded that the complete installation pack is only for Charter Members, but I tjink the publishing of the language pack would be very useful for translators who are not oficial translators.

Currently Translations are being worked on.
A few are already there.

I said about the source language, the English. So I think I wait for publising the beta1 and after it I can start the translation into Hungarian formal language.

Where are there those few? I didn't find any source language file for SMF 2.0 beta1.

zvaranka you will find a list of the in SMF translators in charge in the sticky topic SMF Translators, in this board.

Of course there are others contributing. I have done the Help part of Greek translation but spiros is the final editor.

IMHO to do a proper translation you have to run the software. Different languages have different grammar and syntax. Language file translation is string, not text translation. The strings are associated with data, tables etc. and the translator must check how they correlate in various screens to have a proper result.

Sometimes translating without checking leads to awkward or funny results. 

You can always have a Charter Membership. I liked so much SMF that I joined quite early, not because of benefits but because I felt it was just a small contribution for the software offered.

Only charter/team members have access to the languages.

So teoretically I have to ask for the official Hungarian Translator to send the source files for me. Is it correct?

Files are distributed by SMF only. Any Charter member can download and use the 2.0 Beta 1 version but it is not allowed to give it to someone else.

The same applies for beta testers and CVS (development) versions and, I suppose, for language files given for translation.
