You can change the height as well as the width. You will also need to change the height on the header classes, which are just near the logo code. Set them all to the same height. They are 120px as standard.

it did not show the whole logo the area wasnt big enough it was weird

Often with css changes you need to clear your browser cache (or in Internet Explorer it says "Temporary Internet Files) and force a refresh after doing that (by using Crtl+F5).

The reason for this is that css files are cached for faster page rendering, so if you alter something and don't clear the cache you wont see the changes.
