Which is the best mod to stop Spamming?

Good day house, as the admin of my forum i have embark on different measures to prevent my forum from being spam with useless viagra posting by installing and activating the  stop forum spam mod but still yet i still get spammers posting even though i enable the all features of the stop forum spam mod, please which method do you all feel i can implement to stop activities of spammers.

pleas do you or any one have the link to the anti bot MOD, i want to install it, i am using smf version 1.1.9 and i don't know i saw a kind of verification on a member registration page that say 5+5=, then a box is provided below to enter the correct answer, i don't know if i can also installed such mod.

but do you know if the mod will work on 1.1.10 coz i try to upgrade to 1.1.11 but i got an error message that the file i am trying to upload may be corrupted and i don't want to do or take any action that will make me loose my member or forum, please i still need your help.

Member approval is the best way ..........

But if someone finds your site and tries to join, you may not see their request for quite some time, there's a very good chance they may never come back if they can't join at the time

I use member approval, but before I approve them, I copy and paste their IP address into this site: http://www.stopforumspam.com/search?q=41.233.32.230 [nofollow]

If their IP comes up, i reject them instantly, if nothing comes up and their e-mail address looks dodgy, I approve but require activation, if its a normal looking e-mail then i just approve and send e-mail!

A couple have managed to slip through but I reject about 15 a day!!
