My webhost recently upgrade its MySQL version to 4.1.12 (and is running PHP 4.4).  The SMF (version 1.0.5) no longer works, and I get the following error messages:

Notice: Only variables should be assigned by reference in /home/camner/public_html/cfs66/Sources/Subs.php on line 232

Notice: Undefined index: is_admin in /home/camner/public_html/cfs66/Sources/Security.php on line 556

Notice: Undefined index: permissions in /home/camner/public_html/cfs66/Sources/Security.php on line 563

Warning: in_array(): Wrong datatype for second argument in /home/camner/public_html/cfs66/Sources/Security.php on line 563
session_start(): Cannot send session cookie - headers already sent by (output started at /home/camner/public_html/cfs66/Sources/Subs.php:232)

Does anyone have any idea why this would be the case?  And better yet, how to fix it? :'(

It's the php version that is causing you trouble:

PHP 4.4.0 Compatibility
"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

Thank you for your prompt reply.  But, I am already running SMF 1.0.5!  I upgraded when it first came out!

xenovanis

The downloadversion of SMF 1.0.5 doesn't contain the changes you'll need to get your forum to work with php 4.4.0. You'll need to upload the file Subs.php attached in the first post of that topic or make the suggested changes in Subs.php.
"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

Right you are.  I apologize for not reading more carefully.

It worked.  Thank you!

BTW, how should I have learned of the problem?  I don't frequent this forum often.

xenovanis

If you'd searched for the errormessage you would have found your answer. Didn't you receive an announcement for this?
"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

Well, no, I didn't get an announcement (if I had, I wouldn't have asked the question in the forum ;) ).  Perhaps it got lost in cyberspace.  I don't think it got filtered out, because I DID get a message about the upgrade to 1.0.5 when that came out a while ago.

Anyway, I appreciate the help.
