This mod was done after some requests :)
It adds a bbc tag (with a nice button in post window too) to insert Google Videos in your posts, it's safe and doesn't need you to enable flash bbc on your board.

- Why it's safe to use this bbc?

- Simple: the user cannot enter his own flash file as content, the bbc needs only the video ID and will complete the url itself, entering any type of url will not work.

Syntax: [gvideo=width,height]videoID[/gvideo]

Example: [gvideo=400,326]1811233136844420765[/gvideo]

Demo: http://devel.mangaitalia.it/devsmf/index.php?topic=5.0

As you can see in demo, the classic google embed has been modified to not autoplay the video in posts.

Languages supported: English - Italian

Because some people will request it, there's an 1.0.7 compatible version, it's not fully tested but should work. It also lacks the button in posting screen and you need to install Faster Parsecode first: http://mods.simplemachines.org/index.php?mod=39

Just put it on mate and it all works, but the buttons really weird i took a screenie for you

I don't know what this means i don't think i've put the code into the google video wrong? i don't know.

update: got it working with my theme, what the problem was is it didn't upload to the defaults folder (the gif) so it couldn't find a picture, just chucked it up wit ftp and it's working fine, great work mate thank you.

Double Update: mate half of the google videos do not work, they must have patched it or something already, they always change there urls and codes and whenever i enter the video id like: 8678268842274477015 it never plays, like the video doesn't exist? how did you get that massive code in your one? because that doesn't show with the new clips that people put on? here is a url to my site with a video: *Removed as no use for it now*

Tripple Update: Yeah i was right, only the old videos work the new ones dont work at all. bah humbug!

Quad Tripple Update: K guys i tried a whole bunch of code for some of the clips and some of them that don't work you need to put this into the video id  "  -  "  So if the id is "3119003921476639527" and it doesn't load or work, do this "-3119003921476639527"

Man this isn't an issue, you have to enter the "docid=" value, so if there is a "-" then it's part of the id :)

Hi!

There were three mods heavily used on my RC2 install: Custom-Profile Fields and the YouTube and GoogleVideo mods.

I updated to RC3 and forgot to check if these mods will run. I found a new YouTube mod but GoogleVideo is still missing. All i get is "there are no actions defined" (or whatever this is in english) while installing.

I have absolutely no idea where to modify the source to get this done, but it cant be too complicated, or am i wrong?

Is there anyone out there who could "fix" this mod for RC3?:
http://mods.simplemachines.org/index.php?mod=401

Thanks in advance!

Edit: i was asked to ask here, so i simply c&p'ed this question from the coding board

Hi

same for my Forum, i got your googlevideo and youtube mod running, but in RC3 both dont function.
Can you make an update to RC3?
Thanks and Greetings

killa4u, I tested it on RC3 and it seems to work.

All you have to do is add ;version_emulate=1.1-RC2 to the end of the package manager url so it will allow you to apply it.

Ok, i installed this mod, but am trying to modify it to use a popup box like my img, url, ftp...etc.  The frustrating thing i cannot figure out is that after i put the code in to make the popup box, the post template now shows two buttons, one that pops up, and another that is the standard one...anyone that could possibly help me figure it out?  the code is supposed to replace the normal button function with the new popup box and it seems to be having an issue

EDIT: Nevermind...finally figured it out...it was the if/elseif statement that was causing the problem!
Don't tell me to get into shape...I have a shape...It is round!

Can you be more specific? what package manager url? Where to add.

Could you just upload it?

You know how in your browser there is a box that has the url of the page you are viewing, which also allows you to edit it and go to whatever web address you want?

When you go to Admin / Packages the url should read something like:

http://www.yourforumaddress.com/index.php?action=packages

You would want to add ;version_emulate=1.1-RC2 to the end of that and press enter so it would look something like:

http://www.yourforumaddress.com/index.php?action=packages;version_emulate=1.1-RC2

This should make it so that you can install the package even though the package install routine doesn't allow the install of RC3 without making it think that for the package manager you are using RC2.

Or you can edit the package-info.php file for the mod and change the install for bit to have 1.1 RC3 on it.

I second that ;) it would be beautiful.

This isn't a mod that I use, but after reading through some of this thread, I decided I'd take a look at the code to see if it could be updated to 1.1.1.  From what I could tell, the code will work fine on 1.1.1.  I simply changed the package-info.xml file to also include 1.1.1 and installed it on my test forum using the package manager and it worked just fine.
So, simply download the zip file from the mod site.  Extract the package-info.xml file and open it in a text editor, Dreamweaver, etc.  Find all occurrences of 1.1 RC2 and replace it with 1.1.1.  Save the file and then add it back to the zip file.  Then install it using the package manager as normal.
I take no responsibility if this isn't performed correctly.  I recommed testing it on a test forum first.  I'm just passing on that it worked completely fine on my test forum by doing it this way.
