3074 Query INSERT INTO smf_log_errors

Hi there!

Can someone translate this 'greek' into English for me and then tell me how to fix it? *grin*

Here's the Email my partner got from his host provider:

www.autosurfing101.com/forum isn't working becasue our tech disabled your
SMF forum because it overloads our MySQL server. We cheched our MySQL logs
and found that 1/6 part of all MySQL queries is quesries from your forum.
There are a lot of queries like:
                     3074 Query       INSERT INTO smf_log_errors
                     3074 Query       INSERT INTO smf_log_errors
                     3074 Query       INSERT INTO smf_log_errors
                     3074 Query       INSERT INTO smf_log_errors
                     3074 Query       INSERT INTO smf_log_errors
                     3074 Query       INSERT INTO smf_log_errors
                     3074 Query       INSERT INTO smf_log_errors
We could activate your board again if you promise to resolve the issue
related with the board asap. If not, then we will have to close the board.

We are currently running v1.0.7

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Empty out  smf_log_errors
Next check what are the error logs in the error log viewer.
Then if it is a bad theme or mod look for an update mod or remove them.
If you can't do that. Then disable error logging in edit features and options.

And lastly upgrade to SMF 1.0.8

Your host provider doesn't seem to know English that well .
Anyways, like vbgamer45 was saying, those queries are done whenever there is an error on your forum. The best thing to do would be to log in, and check through the error logs to see what's causing it (probably a badly-written theme or MOD).

On another note, who is your web host? I've never known something like this to "overload" the MySQL server (unless they're hosting too many people on the server, in which case it's bound to be overloaded sooner or later)

Thank you very much for the replies. I've passed the info on to my buddy.

The host is MidPhase. I personally don't know anything about them. I'm actually looking into some other ones for myself as well. Anyone have experience with StartLogic or Dot5Hosting? According to www.hosting-review.com they both come highly recommended.

Midphase are definately overselling...
I'd personally recommend http://www.cwhnetworks.com/ to you. Their service is top-notch . Sure, the bandwidth limit at CWH isn't overly huge, it's quite alright for a medium-sized  website . All those hosts that give you "1000 GB" don't actually give you that much, they're just overselling. They don't expect people to use much bandwidth, and sell more than they actually have.
