Modify the mainmenu link parameters

Excuse this if it has been mentioned elsewhere as I did search through the forums but was unable to find what i am after. I Have the bridge installed and working great between joomla and smf. I was doing some customization on my joomla menu system to have it show images instead of the text links to each section.

All was going well until I tryed to assign an image to the forum mainmenu link. When opening up the other menu link items they show additional parameters down the right hand side to assign a menu image and all sorts of other things but the link to the smf forum component just shows an empty text box with parameters at the top. (I can include an image of what I am talking about if it is unclear)

Am I missing something or is this feature just not available with the joomla-smf bridge?
