! When sorting make sure to keep all the parameters from the previous page. (MediaCenter.php, MediaCenter.template.php)
! Make sure that the members can see the Media Center button if they are allowed to see atleast one section. (MediaCenter.php)
! $user_info variable was missing from the global scope in RequestFile() function causing the file downloads to fail. (MediaCenter.php)

Also I added the limit thing that you requested Knat.  It's not fully  implemented like i wanted to but it gets the job done.  With cache it wont work to well though.

Edit: Okey i did some checking out and i ran into some problems 

1.. if i go to other page than page one i get red crosses 

2 the limit thing seems to also limit the amount of images shown in the list..

Let me see.. is this what it is surposed to do ?

Should return this ?:

image 1 topic 1  |	image 2 topic 1

Right now it only shows the first two pictures of topic one and nothing more.. and if i click next page i get red crosses..

I would like to (maybe) use this mod for a download area. So I plan to create boards for the downloads and have a question: Can your mod handle subboards? So if I create in the image-board of the MediaCenter a subboard named wallpaper, will this work?

Hope you understand what I mean. I don't want to use it for images, but for ZIP- and PHP-files as you posted in this thread. My english isn't very good, if you don't understand what I wish to do, please ask.

The mod installed fine and works well, as far as I can see:

Is it possible to set the thumbnail size, or number of columns to display images?
I will never be using music, which is the default, so is it possible to either (a) delete this category, or (b) change the default, so it opens to Images?

Nehcregit: You can just use the id of the board ;-) Even sub boards have an id number

Example: www.yoursite.com/forum/index.php?action=mediacenter;mediaboards=XX

Where XX is the ID of your sub board 

WhatsUp: you can set permissions for the media center.. if you set it so your members are not allowed to view music then the button will disapper and music will no longer be default for that usergroup.. you as an admin will still see it !

Knat use the new version that I uploaded.  It seems that while fixing the other bugs I overwrote the fix for the broken links.  Use this file and upload it to the Source dir.

Knat: thanks for the advice, though when I implemented it, the PDF category disappeared and the images were now shown, though they were downloadable. Still, it's not a big problem and maybe one day we really will have music and audio files.

For the thumbnail size it's a default SMF setting.  Admin > Attachments and Avatars.

Also you can do what Knat said and rmeove the permission.  If you are using 1.0 Beta3a there is a custom permission that you can use separate from the default 3 permissions.

To change the columns just edit the MediaCenter.template.php file.  $columns = 2;

Thanks JayB, that solved all the red crosses 

Everything is now good and usefull except the Limit function.

When i use limit=2 it should limit how many attachments are shown from each topic.. but what it does do is limit how many attachments are shown all in all.. so i get a page with two pictures on it and nothing more... if i click to the next page it forgets all about the limit funtion and just shows me everything again..

im not sure if i explain good enough.. kinda hard to explain when english is not the best, but look back a few post and see what im talking about... if i can get the limit funktion to work the right way i feel ready to show the mod to my users..    and they can browse my movie board in a cool fasion

Only one question... How do I make the button in the menu available for guest?
It is already available as I gave the permissions but guests still  dont  see the button in the menu.

edit: normal users dont see the button either...THis was a misunderstanding, it was a matter of activating it in the permissions area. But Guests still dont see the button.

The problem is only in the Dutch version of my forum. When I put the default language to English there's no problem at all so guess have to check out my language files indeed

Fair enough Your mod is great for many purposes - and i can see you already changed alot for in the code to fulfill my needs. so please know that i am very thankful. 

I been searching for many ways to show my movie board in a cool way..  i even found a smf forum where you could see the thumbnail of the first attchment in the topic overview  (display.template.php ) but i never found a mod for it and i forgot the address  so i thought this mod was the answer to my prayers, but sadly it wasnt. Maybe someday somebody will write a mod or a block code snippet that will do what i need

I also think its a great mod! Also have the language issued fixed now.

Regarding other features... what about a combination of this mod and the Streaming mod? Those are no attachments but ...stream media from other site.

Well what I was thinking was adding .pls support so that it can stream live music.

.pls support is nice too but what I meant is more getting a section in the mediacenter area with a  selection of the posts that include embedded media files, in a separate tab I mean. Only with the first post in topic maybe.

Like on my board at: http://www.muziek4um.nl/index.php/board,11.0.html there's a large collection of embedded video streams embedded in files but not every file has embedded media.

Now the people have to open a message to see the the video, and if they want to see another video they have to click the back button of the browser and go back to the topic index and then click the next message, wait till it s open en over and over again.

My idea should look quit like the BoardNews function, like displayed on the frontpage when using Tiny portal, but then specific in the mediacenter area as we do not want to see each message in a board but only the ones containing embedded media.

But the idea, I mean what people see, should be the same as what we see now.
Because you definately made a FANTASTIC MOD mr Bachatero! WONDERFUL!!! I love it! So it's not that i'm complaining or not happy with it or so ' cause I am. It's just an idea


And for those who are interested... I also want to share the menubutton for those who use the Babylon Theme: Let's call it de Babylon theme MediaCenter button. It made with Webby's button generator.

works great other than the fact that when you have the attatchments set to be automatically resized the pics in the media center come up as broken images. When the attatchments arent set to resize they work fine but the pics are so big sometimes it stretches the page too much
