Well that takes care of my first question, but the feel, look and feature are so good. How come I have never seen the forum until now, has a bit of a look of vBulletin more than phpbb to me. Think my mind is made up just need to ask a few question but been working all day on setting the smf forum up and well impressed

Well welcome to SMF!  It is really too bad that a lot of people dont know about SMF, it is a great forum and has much to offer, best of all for free.

If you have any questions please feel free to post them around the forum.

Welcome to the SMF. The SMF is really the best forum software there is. I am using it since a while now and I am very satisfied

Hey guys. First time poster here. As a soon to be former user of phpBB, I can say I LOVE SMF. As soon as i get used to all the options of SMF, I'm going to upload my phpBB forum to SMF and I will never look back. yazman, I highly recommend SMF. It's so easy to use yet feels more "powerful" than phpBB.

Thanks to all the people who made SMF. Great job.

I switched to SMF from PHPBB when version 1.02 has just come out.

One thing I can say is ease of use for the basic stuff make it possible for webmasters
to spend more time on productivity and modifying the software. Which leads me to the part 2 of this.
Modifications are much easier then PHPBB. Most sites that run PHPBB look stock as it difficult for the average user to customize phpbb compared to phpbb its like comparing a automatic transmission to a manual one.

Errors too. phpbb has had more fixes then I could cound back years ago when using phpbb I spend allot of time repairing security errors etc.
I still get update info through my email regarding phpbb and there are always fixes.

I have heard Yabb is good but its also 150.00 I think.
And SMF is ....hmmm Zero, Nada Zip .

Went from 1.01 - 1.1.1 and many versions in between.
My members of the forums I have been always pleased, and the support system here is bar none
the best. Far better then support at other software companies we pay for.

Geees companies could take lessons from SMF.
