GMX dereferer email notification links don't work

The gmx dereferer links do not properly work in this board. Example:

This link does not take you on the last unread post but to the 1st page of the thread:

http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=6981.new%3Btopicseen#new

Another example: the email notification link does not take you into your private mailbox but to the boardindex.

What is special in the gmx dereferer links: the special characters are in hex representation.

I put this into site bugs because it works in my test installation.

You need to hex the # as well.

Almost sure GMX won't hex the # for me...

Then, it's a bug in GMX (whatever that is...?) not SMF - even if it wasn't GMX, it would be your browser....

GMX is a superbe free mailer (there is also a paid version which unfortunately is for Swiss people not available so far). The best I have seen so far. They offer 1 GB disk space and have the best spam filter I have ever seen.

I suggest you inquire about the #.  If you send yourself an email with an anchor in it, does it work with that link either?

I'm using GMX too and got no Problems so far! I can easily use the link in an notify-mail from any smf-board i know.

browser maybe?

I had to switch from the Win2K to the WinXP PC because of a system failure and have exactly the same problem on the 2nd PC. Using MSIE 6.0
