I recon it's [unknown] bulk downloading PHP manuals again.

Doing what now?

I'm going to disable this forum to see if it's SMF or something else.  Only for a little bit.

I've also been experiencing this badly :(
I'm only a half geek really...

I restarted like every thing on the server and hit it with a rubber mallet, it seems to be better now.

I noticed like 3 small "official" downtimes last 24h.
This morning at around 5 GMT i couldnt access the page via mozilla - still -  its an 3 month old mozilla 1.7.x

Just downloaded the latest from firefox and it works just fine....same with my old 6.x iexplorer.

hmm might be client side but mybe this helps.

The only thing i can find so far is a prevented action from mozilla creating a testUpdate.txt targeting system32 in some software dir-
My browser might got hijacked whtever....well i dont know :P

Well had it for a moment like 2 hours back with firefox also. (liek 2 mins load for page)
Mybe this is some kind of session bugs between 2 or more SMF boards when u use same user name or somekind of browse rcache overloading? i have no idea tipping blind here....hmm mybe its just the bbs bandwidth :-) ?

Same for me. Most time with MSIE 6. Right at this second the board looks fast. But many times the load time of the pages is very slow. Although it shows then a much shorter "Page created in" time. It shows then a "Page created in" time of less than a second, where I waited maybe 30 seconds.

I tried to resolve some possible problems and checked on a few things on the server.  We also restarted it.

So, it might be better now.

I'm behind a cisco router right now, so all my pings are getting blocked ^_^.  Had to use a web service...

I noticed it was slow every now and again over the last couple of days...

seems ok now, getting an average ping time of 108ms (pinging from Ireland, Europe.... if you're interested!)

Well i just had a "browser not responsing" and had to restart.

I noticed this happens after i modifieng msges...it reloads and ....loading...then some board tables appear still loading....som emor eappear then crash ....mybe if i had waited it would have had appear.
And ONLY happend here at the official board yet (Rc1+ and i use Rc1)....might be a theme flaw?

Also i noticed SMF is very dynamic ...eg if i delete /SMF/Sources files they get generated automaticly and the DB gets updated also.

Well mybe this has todo with this and the stacks?
Its like the browser have to work a long list of operations/calculations through and this is what it makes slow. ( or is it real multitasking?)

hmmmm

I've been having this problem for months (there's another thread about it somewhere).  Sometimes it's ok, sometimes it's painfully slow with lots of packet loss.  The problem seems to be a router on NAC's network.

The_Altered1

It is kind of slow for me as well, (but then again it could be do to the amount of people migrating here from the now *paid* Invision).  ;D

This forum has seen more than 82 users online, and handled pretty well...

It seems okay for me, though... but we are looking into it.  How's your ping? (Start -> Run -> type "cmd" -> Type "ping www.simplemachines.org".)
