Hey--I'm sorry I was so long in getting back to you.  What you want to do is to go to the "Edit Features and Options" screen in the administration center.  Under "Basic Forum Features," make sure that the database-driven session option is checked.

Now, if that doesn't work, could you please give me a link to your site?

Before I access your web site, have you tested this out on any other browsers or on anyone else's computer?

Nederland

Everybody from this forum has the same problem.
And these are the stats so, yes :).

I'm having no problem staying logged in after repeatedly closing the browser.  I use Mozilla Firefox 1.0, and cookies are enabled in the browser.

I use firefox on another connection on another computer now.

After filling in my username he automatically fills in my password. But he doesn't log in automatically.

And with IE all efforts to automatically log in fails..  :(

Why is that?

Nost of the people on the development team use Firefox because it has superior features and development utilities, better error detection and reporting, and a much better facility for custom changes and extensions.

In fact, in the world of web developers even (of which forum administrators are usually part), Firefox is one of the most popular browsers, possibly surpassing even Internet Explorer, and almost assuredly Opera.

Ok, and what aboit the ordinary Windows user? I've got Win98 still and I believe I cannot delete IE, so its just taking up space on my hard drive, so, I might as well use it, no?

Would it make sense for me to switch to Firefox under these circumstances?

I know this is off topic, but...

Thanks

I would say it makes sense.  Personally, I really wouldn't be able to go long periods using Internet Explorer as well now... I've been spoiled by tabs and other niceties in Firefox.  While you can't get rid of Internet Explorer... Firefox isn't all that big, and just because you have Notepad doesn't mean you can't use a better editor, right?

I would suggest you try it for a little while.  See if it works for you... see if you like it better.  Play around with its features, and if you don't like it... you can always uninstall it.  I'm almost certain you won't not like it though, I've never seen anyone use Firefox and say they preferred Internet Explorer.  Some have said they liked Opera more, but no one yet that I can remember has liked Internet Explorer.

Armada

I use Firefox as my "main" browser. It's very responsive. I only have M$ Explorer running under "Crossover Office" that I only use for compatibility checks of my own sites.
I run SuSE Linux though.
I let loose a six year-old and a twelve year-old, and also my little brother on my PC and not one of them even noticed that I wasn't using anything "strange".

Thanks for any help you can give me..

Nederlands, are you the only person experiencing this?

Have you tried using a different computer or clearing your cookies?
