Uploaded Avatars Stay in Directory

I setup my avatars so when you upload one, they go into the avatars in a new folder called uploaded, so then you can go and your able to pick a avatar that is upload for your personal picture. Using smf 1.1.4 and Now my question or problem I guess not to sure half and half, but anyways when say I upload an avatar it is put into that folder but if I change my avatar to one say in the actors folder, the avatar that I uploaded before will not be in that folder, is their a way to stop this or a fix, just wondering as its not a big deal right now. Thanks
