Search Bar Problems

I have a site listing approximately 650 businesses and obviously I direct people to use the search bar to locate a business in their type, locality and postcode as have I placed their business type, locality and postcode in the search bar and its also in the post.

Though the problem is that when people go to use the search bar and put either the type of business and postcode or locality, at times it does not come up and then they have to (Set Search Parameters) as it says (Your search query didn't return any matches).

I have set the (search method) to Custom index and ticked (Force the use of a search index) in the (weights) i have this 100% in subject though previously 50 /50 in subject and post, yet did not seen to make any difference.

In Forum Maintaince (In the Check all files against current Versions) i have about 15 x 1.1.2 instead of 1.1.4 and one in particular Search.php 1.1.2   1.1.4.

Would upgrading Search.php to 1.1.4 help or is there another way to improve my search bar, as this is quite debilitating to the general site.
