help on "mirrored" sites

hello.
i have a very challenging problem which i tried to solve by myself for weeks without success

let me do the technical preface:
* 2 identical mambo 4.6.2 sites on different domains
* 2 identical smf bridged forums on different domains
* both sites share the same database but one is in italian and one in english (achieved through different mambo templates and customizing a little bit SMF bridges/config tables)

everything works fine, except new attachments and avatars in forums.
this is logical... the two smf forums has in fact two different attachments and avatars RELATIVE LOCAL UPLOAD folders
eg:

/web/htdocs/www.mjportal.com/home/jackson/forum/attachments

/web/htdocs/www.mjportal.it/home/news/forum/attachments

i can't figure out how to let members upload their avatars/attachments (the english on domain A and the italian on domain B) but to grant them to see each others' avatars or attachments. let me add that i set to 777 the permission for the linux folders...
please help me!!! I m getting crazyyyyy
