Do you on your forum using image hosts and do you need direct upload to them?

Hello,
I thinking to create one mod for SMF but first I need to know do you on your forum using external image hosts or you have enabled attachment on forum, also, if you have enabled attachments on your forum I need to know is that used by users or they still using some external image hosts like photobucket??

If your users using external image hosts, do you need direct upload (from your forum) and auto insert IMG codes to post?? I thinking that on this way users don`t need to visit other sites to upload images...
