profile problem

on these forums when i goto change my displayed name and enter my current password and save it the "Name" text turns red and it sn't changed.

Just tested this myself without problems (and doubt it's a permissions issue), so don't know what to suggest...

That will happen if you try to change your name to the name of someone else.

thats what i thought at first so i tried changing it to billybob dobting anyone would have their name like that and it still happened.

well obviosuly it was i got it changed.

Since mine was 'peter tests his display name' or something like that, I'd have been surprised to find that taken either!

you what is really wierd itr apparently Ryan was taken but i cannot find it in the members list.

No.  You cannot use as your display name:
  - the name of another member.
  - the username of another member.
  - the email address of another member.
